FORT LORAMIE, Ohio — The home team and a pair of state-ranked squads were the only teams to finish ahead of the Indians.
Fort Recovery High School’s girls cross country team took fourth place with 117 points at Tuesday’s Fort Loramie Invitational, trailing only Division III No. 2 Coldwater (47), fourth-ranked Versailles (74) and the host Redskins (75).
The boys team was eighth out of 17 with 256 points.
Elle Sutter was the only Indian to crack the top 10, taking eighth place in 21 minutes, 7 seconds. Jessica Vogel was 21st in 22:14, and Abby May was 13 seconds behind her in 24th.
Nicole Heitkamp finished 36th in 23:11, and Sam Tobe posted a time of 24:24 for 48th.
The Derek Sutters went back-to-back for the Tribe boys, with sophomore Derek S. placing 34th in 19:09.19 and senior Derek J. 35th in 19:09.69. Nathan Fullenkamp was 53rd in 19:57 ahead of Joey Gonzalez (79th – 20:34) and Marshall Hull (86th – 20:47).

Freshman spikers fall
FORT RECOVERY — Fort Recovery’s freshman volleyball team suffered a 25-17, 25-20 loss Thursday to the Celina Bulldogs.
Caley Schoenherr finished with four kills and four points in the loss for the Tribe, which dropped to 3-3.
Karla Eichenauer had four points and four digs, and Morgan Leuthold added four points and three kills.
Rachel Pugh put up four assists, and Jurnee Bechtol had four digs.

Huelskamp takes third
FORT LORAMIE, Ohio — Caitlyn Huelskamp turned in a third-place effort Tuesday to lead the Fort Recovery Middle School girls cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the Fort Loramie Invitational.
The Indian girls scored 113 points to edge fifth-place Botkins by four in the 10-team event. The Tribe boys team scored 305 points to finish 13th ahead of Allen East in the 14-team field.
Huelskamp, who was the runner-up at Saturday’s Spencerville Invitational, took third place in 12 minutes, 59 seconds, and Angela Heitkamp was seventh in 13:16. Cori Stone took 33rd in 14:31 ahead of Grace Gehle (36th – 14:46) and Chassity Hemmelgarn (57th – 15:34).
Anthony Jutte finished in 12:48 to lead the FRMS boys in 25th place. Isaac Siegrist was 59th in 13:35 followed by Mitch Kaiser (90th – 15:08), Nick Litmer (115th – 16:19) and Ty Francis (130th – 17:50).

8th grade spikers win
FORT RECOVERY — Kirsten Jutte led the Indians’ eighth grade volleyball team to a 25-18, 25-21 victory Tuesday over the Parkway Panthers. The seventh grade squad fell, 25-7, 25-13.
Jutte set the pace with eight assists and five points for Fort Recovery’s eighth grade team, which evened its record at 3-3. Kendra Siefring had six kills and two blocks, Morgan Lennartz notched seven kills and Rachel Kaup scored seven points.
Devin Post totaled three points and two kills for the seventh grade Indians (2-4). Miranda Petit had four points, and Emily Hart finished with three kills.[[In-content Ad]]
