Tribe tops TVHS

ARCANUM, Ohio — A night after eking out a conference win on their home course, the Indians came through on the road.
The Fort Recovery High School boys golf team picked up its second victory in as many nights Tuesday as it topped the host Tri-Village Patriots 185-198 at Beechwood Golf Course.
Elijah Kahlig came up with pars on the 345-yard, par-4 13th hole, the 361-yard, par-4 14th and the 526-yard, par-5 18th. He led the Tribe (7-13), which knocked off Coldwater by two strokes Monday, as he earned medalist honors with a 43.
Haeden Schlechty and Brett Boyter shared the low score for Tri-Village as they each shot 47.
Kent Retz matched Kahlig with three pars on the way to shooting 45. Stewy Alig finished with a 47, and Chase Bruns added a 50 to complete the team score.
Josh Pohl posted a 51, and Derek Backs shot 55.

Wildcats top spikers
MINSTER, Ohio — Fort Recovery’s volleyball team suffered a 25-15, 25-13, 25-14 loss Tuesday to the Minster Wildcats.
The victory was the first in the
Midwest Athletic Conference for Minster (5-5, 1-3 MAC), which had lost league matches to New Knoxville, St. Henry and Versailles.
Tori Lennartz had four kills and four blocks to pace the Indians, who dropped to 4-7 overall and 1-3 in the MAC. Cassidy Rammel had three service points and three assists.
Hannah Kaup finished with a team-best nine digs, Kelsey Fiely had seven digs and Haley Knapke added three blocks.
Kirsten Jutte totaled five assists, four kills, four digs, two service points and two blocks as the junior varsity squad fell 25-15, 25-12.
Rachel Pugh had five assists and four service points.

FRMS splits
FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery Middle School seventh grade volleyball team cruised to a 25-10, 25-10 victory Tuesday over the Minster Wildcats. The eighth graders lost, 19-25, 25-15, 25-12.
Kiah Wendel racked up 15 service points to lead the seventh grade Indians, who improved to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the Midwest Athletic Conference. Madi Grover added 10 service points and one assist.
Devin Post totaled seven kills, four assists and two blocks for the eighth graders (2-8, 0-3 MAC). Logan Ranly had 14 service points, and Renee Kuess notched five service points and three kills.[[In-content Ad]]
