Trio leads Starfire swimmers

BERNE - Three swimmers each finished first in a pair of events Thursday to lead the South Adams High School girls team to a 133-42 destruction of the visiting Fort Wayne South Side Archers.
Erika Waugh, Allison Beitler and Jansen Yoder, set the pace for the Starfires, who swept the top three positions in four events.
Waugh led a pair of those sweeps with her first-place finishes in the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 24.96 seconds and 100 backstroke in 1:04.38. Beitler took the top spot in the 200 freestyle in 2:14.68 and 100 freestyle in 1:01.61, and Yoder's victories came with times of 28.13 in the 50 freestyle and 1:24.21 in the 100 breaststroke.
Alexia Fox added a victory in the 100 butterfly in 1:09.69, and Alyssa Sharp took the 100 backstroke in 1:04.38.
Perry advances
Caytlyn Perry is advancing to the next round of the NBA/WNBA Fit Challenge.
Perry finished first in the 9-10-year-old division at the local competition Nov. 14 hosted by Jay Community Center. She will move on the to regional round of the competition, which includes jump rope, sprints and passing.[[In-content Ad]]
