Dovie Begley
Dovie C. Begley, 86, Hartford City, died early Monday morning in Miller’s Merry Manor, Hartford City. She was the relative of Pennville residents.
Born in Scott County, Virginia, on Aug. 11, 1917, to Jimmy and Otela (Gillum) Lane, she attended Wood School, Wood, Va. She married Harmon C. Begley on March 14, 1964, in Gate City, Va. He preceded her in death.
She had been also been a resident of Montpelier and lived with her granddaughter near Pennville before recently moving into Miller’s Merry Manor.
Surviving are one daughter; a sister; a brother; a son-in-law, John Binegar, Pennville; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services are Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Glancy Funeral Homes-Walker Chapel, Montpelier, with the Rev. Wilbur Taylor presiding. Burial will follow in Brookside Memorial Park, Montpelier.
Visitation is today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
