Felony arrests
Accused of possession
A Portland man was arrested Sunday night after he was pulled over by police.
Joshua D. Parker, 22, 705 E. Main St., was arrested by Portland police on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, both class D felonies, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.
Parker was pulled over by police at Main Street and Munson Avenue for having only one working headlight, police said. Marijuana, hydrocodone not prescribed to Parker and cigarette rolling papers were found inside the vehicle, police said.
Parker was released from the Jay County Jail Monday on a $4,500 bond.
Accused of theft
A Portland man was arrested Sunday evening on felony and misdemeanor charges.
Robert T. Vance, 40, 829 S. Bridge St., was arrested for theft, a class D felony, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor.
Portland police went to Vance’s home Sunday on a report of a semi truck engine running and disturbing the peace. Police said that when they told Vance to turn off the semi, he refused. Police allegedly found a stop sign and a city parking ordinance sign in his garage, which are owned by the city of Portland.
Vance was released from the Jay County Jail on a $4,000 bond.[[In-content Ad]]
