Hit and run
A Portland woman’s SUV was damaged in an apparent hit and run in Portland Monday.
Deborah Bonvillian, 63, 314 E. Elder St., had stopped northbound on Commerce Street and was attempting to make a left turn onto High Street at the four-way stop when the front of an aqua-colored car southbound on Commerce Street collided with the passenger side of her 2000 Honda CR-V.
The car then was driven from the scene.
The accident occurred at 6:46 p.m. and total damage was estimated to be between $1,000 and $2,500.
Lot collision
A vehicle driven by a Pennville teenager backed into a parked car in the parking lot of Summer Breeze Tanning, 111 W. North St., Portland, on Monday.
Ashley Motter, 17, 260 E. Second St., Lot 6, Pennville, was backing out of a parking spot in a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer owned by Melony Hollopeter, same address.
Motter did not see a parked Dodge Caravan as she backed up, striking the rear of the vehicle — owned by James Burk, 124 Bittersweet Lane, Portland — with the Chevrolet.
Total damage was estimated to be between $1,000 and $2,500. The accident occurred at 3:47 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
