Intersection collision
Vehicles driven by a Redkey man and a Portland woman collided in Portland Saturday at 7:18 p.m.
A 1997 Ford Escort driven by Robert L. Bland, 33, 110 E. Sherman St., Redkey, and a 2004 Ford Focus driven by Karissa J. Myers, 22, 806 W. Seventh St., collided at Seventh Street and Western Avenue.
Bland told Portland police he was driving south on Western Avenue and stopped at Seventh Street. He said he thought the intersection was four-way stop, so he began to enter the intersection. At the same time, Myers was driving east on Seventh Street and entered the intersection. The vehicles collided. The impact caused Bland's vehicle to go off the south side of the street and into a yard.
Bland was cited by police for failing to stop at a stop sign. The T-intersection was a one-way stop.
Combined damage to the vehicles and the yard, owned by Frank Vormohr, 715 W. Seventh St., was estimated at $2,500 to $5,000.
Vehicle damaged
Someone damaged a Portland resident's vehicle while it was parked at her apartment complex.
Priscilla Butcher, 600 S. Meridian St., Apt. 5, told Portland police that someone broke off the side mirror and scratched the passenger side of her car. The vandalism occurred between 10:30 p.m. Friday and noon on Saturday. She lives at Orchard Apartments.
