Correction

Information with a photo on page 3 of Monday's edition of The Commercial Review contained incorrect information.

Noble Township School, which opened in 1941, closed in 1975.

The school is planning to hold its first reunion for former students, teachers and employees Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Lions Club Civic Center on county road 100 North, just east of U.S. 27.

Mascot coming

The Indianapolis Colts' mascot, Blue, will be visiting two elementary schools on Wednesday.

He will be at Judge Haynes Elementary School at 9:30 a.m., and at General Shanks Elementary School at 1 p.m. Blue will present his program, "Take P.R.I.D.E. in Yourself." The 45-minute program will discuss the importance of physical fitness, respecting yourself and others, making intelligent decisions, diet and education. Blue and his emcee, Kat, will present the free program to 75 elementary schools this season.

The event is not open to the public.

Thefts reported

Jay County police received two reports over the weekend of thefts from soft drink machines.

Shawver U-Lock, 3430 West Ind. 67, and Como Service, 5510 West Ind. 67, both experienced similar thefts Friday night or early Saturday.

At Como Service thieves broke into two Coca-Cola machines on the east side of the building sometime after the business closed at 6 p.m. Friday night. About $125 in cash and $30 worth of Coke products were stolen.

A lock appeared to have been drilled out of a Coke machine at Shawver U-Lock the same night. About $50 to $60 in cash was believed to have been taken.

Flushing hydrants

The town of Geneva will be testing fire hydrants during the week of Oct. 12-16.[[In-content Ad]]
