Margaret Strange

Margaret Irene Strange, 72, Muncie, died Sunday at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.

She was a Dunkirk native.

Born to Gerald and Leta (Dale) Miller on Dec. 22, 1930 in Dunkirk, she was a 1950 graduate of Dunkirk High School. She was married to Bobby Strange, who died in 2001.

She was a packer at Armstrong Glass in Dunkirk.

Surviving are two sons, Michael Strange, Indianapolis, and R. Ernie Strange, New Castle; two daughters, Vickie Strange, Muncie, and Mrs. Jim (Linda) Phillips, Reynoldsburg, Ohio; a sister, Doris Farlow, Reynoldsburg; a brother, Gene Miller, Dunkirk; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at M.J.S. Mortuaries-D.W. Jones Chapel, Dunkirk.

Burial will follow in the Dunkirk I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Harold Guyot

Harold J. Guyot, 91, Fort Wayne, died Sunday at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana, Fort Wayne. He was the brother of a Portland resident.

Born Oct. 31, 1911 in Bartlesville, Okla., he was a maintenance worker with General Electric, retiring in 1975 after 34 years of service.

He was a member of Waynedale United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge 739, Waynedale.

Surviving are his wife, Edna; three sons; a daughter; two sisters, including Emma Grile, Portland; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services are Thursday at 11 a.m. at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation is Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Waynedale United Methodist Church; Hospice Southwest; or Cancer Services of Allen County.

Mary Caroline Weigel

Services were held today for Sister Mary Caroline Weigel, 90, Fremont, Ohio, who died Friday at St. Bernadine Home, Fremont. She was a Fort Recovery native.

Burial took place in the convent cemetery.

Born to Jacob and Philomena (Jutte) Weigel on Sept. 15, 1912 in Fort Recovery, she was the former Hilda Weigel before entering the Sisters of Mercy on March 24, 1931.

After making her professional vows on Aug. 15, 1933, she began teaching at St. Vincent de Paul School, Toledo, Ohio. She then entered St. Rita’s Hospital School of Nursing in Lima, Ohio and also attended De Sales College and she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing education degrees from the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C.

Following a nursing assignment in Tiffin, Ohio, in 1936, she served as director of nursing services/School of Nursing and assistant administrator at Mercy Hospital, Toledo, Ohio, from 1942-63.

She was then director of St. Rita’s Hospital School of Nursing, Lima, from 1965-84. She retired from there in 1996.

She was a charter member of Sigma Theta Tau Kappa honorary sorority.

Memorials may be made to the Sisters of Mercy.

J. Wendell Addington

Services are pending at M.J.S. Mortuaries, Dunkirk, for J. Wendell Addington, 75, 600 South, Dunkirk, who died early this morning at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.

Enos Schwartz

Enos D.J. Schwartz, 67, rural Berne, died Sunday morning at his home. He was the brother of a rural Geneva resident.

Born in Hartville, Ohio, on Feb. 12, 1936, to Joe E. and Dehlia (Miller) Schwartz, he married Sylvia K. Schwartz on April 3, 1958. She survives.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish.

Other survivors include seven sons; two daughters; three brothers; two sisters, including Bertha Schwartz, rural Geneva; 36 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services are Wednesday at 9 a.m. at his home, 5350 South County Road 525 East, Berne, with burial taking place in Amish Cemetery of Blue Creek Township.

Visitation is today at the home until 8 p.m.

Arrangements are being handled by Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne.

David Timmerman

Services were held Saturday for David B. Timmerman, 52, Union City, who died Thursday in St. Vincent Randolph County Hospital, Winchester, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was the brother of a Fort Recovery resident.

Burial took place in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Union City.

Born in Celina, Ohio, on Dec. 15, 1950 to William and Armella (Wendel) Timmerman, he was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Employed at Union City Body Company, he owned and operated Dave’s One Stop Bait Shop in Union City. He was a member of the Union City American Legion Post.

Surviving are his mother, Armella, Rossburg, Ohio; two daughters; a son; one brother; seven sisters including Mrs. Louie (Peg) Hart, Fort Recovery; and one granddaughter.
