Robert “Bob” and Karen (Woodruff) Vance, 126 Rayburn Drive, Portland, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today.
They were married on Nov. 24, 1962, at Summitville Methodist Church.
Karen graduated from Ball Hospital School of nursing and worked as a registered nurse at Jay County Hospital and Randolph Nursing Home.
Bob graduated from Trine (Tri-State) University with a degree in mechanical engineering and retired after 36 years in the heating and cooling business.
They are members of Asbury United Methodist Church in Portland.
The couple are the parents of Lori McIntosh (husband: Steve), Robert Vance Jr. (wife: Jinnie), and Lana Hilty (husband: Melvin), all of Portland, and Lisa Rudy (husband: Matt), Naples, Fla. They also have seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
They celebrated last summer with a trip to Virginia.
