Versailles defeats Fort JV

VERSAILLES, Ohio - The Fort Recovery High School junior varsity football team had a pair of long touchdown passes Saturday, but could not keep up with the Versailles Tigers in a 40-12 defeat.
Shane Brunswick connected with Trent Kaiser for a 60-yard TD pass in the loss. He also had a 50-yard scoring strike to Jason Pottkotter.
WJ football falls
DUNKIRK - West Jay Middle School's football team suffered an 18-0 loss Saturday to visiting Salamonie.
Dan Walter led the offense with 58 yards on 15 carries, James Williams ran seven times for 56 yards and Seth Winget ran eight times for 35 yards.
Chaz McClain finished with eight tackles.
Baskett tops EJ
GAS CITY - The East Jay sixth grade volleyball A team lost 25-14, 16-25, 15-8 Saturday to host R.J. Baskett, and the B team took a 25-14, 20-25, 15-11 defeat.
Sierra Trobridge finished the day with 10 points, including three aces, and two assists. Abby Reier scored 11 points.
Ava Kunkler had six kills and two assists, Kylie Osborne added four kills and Savanna Mace came up with three digs.[[In-content Ad]]
