Mr. and Mrs. Walter Voght, rural Hartford City, will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary Sunday with an open house, hosted by their children, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at West Jay Community Center in Dunkirk.
Walter was married to Betty Besser on April 29, 1952, at the United Brethren Church in Hartford City by the Rev. Heelie Cobb.
After retiring from St. Joe Paper Co. in Hartford City and working in the Blackford County surveyor's office for several years, Walter was a full-time farmer.
They are the parents of Mrs. Jim (Pat) Stephenson and Mrs. Stuart (Julie) Terrel, both of Hartford City, Sam Voght, Portland, and Tim Voght, Indianapolis. They have eight grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, five great-grandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
