Warriors of the month named at Judge Haynes
Taking note
Judge Haynes Elementary School named its Warriors of the Month for December.
Named were Bennett Weitzel, Christian Runkle, Matthew Hall, Ramon Bravo, Gabe Rowles, Elizabeth Stewart, Emma James, Matthew Minnich, Joey Hall, Abigail Betts, Shadow Rhode and Auston Rittenhouse.
Students were chosen for serving as outstanding examples of the career skills active listening, caring, common sense, confidence, effort/motivation, initiative, perseverance, problem solving, responsibility, respecting school property, teamwork and trustworthiness.
Dean’s list
Jeffrey T. Belda, Portland, made the dean’s list for the fall semester at Vincennes University.
He is majoring in conservation law enforcement.
The dean’s list includes students from the Vincennes campus, Jasper campus, Aviation Technology Center in Indianapolis, military bases and others.
Reading program
The adult winter reading program at Jay County Public Library will begin Monday and continue through Feb. 5 for those 18 and older.
An entry form needs to be filled out for each book read or listened to and weekly prize winners will be chosen. All entries will be included for a grand prize winner.
