Watson announces candidacy

Dan Watson, a former member of the Dunkirk City Council, has announced plans to run for mayor.
Watson, 49, is a Democrat. He has served as Jay County engineer for 22 years, is president of Dunkirk Industrial Development Corporation and a member of several other area organizations.
He and wife Kelly have three children.
Incumbent Dunkirk Mayor Ron Hunt, a Republican, announced last year he plans to seek a second term in office. Filing for 2011 primary elections begins Wednesday, Jan. 19.
The primary election is Tuesday, May 3, with the general election set for Tuesday, Nov. 8.[[In-content Ad]]
