3 arrested
Two Dunkirk teenagers and a Portland man were arrested Monday by Dunkirk police after they allegedly stole items from vehicles and garages in Dunkirk.
Tyler A. Sewell, 19, 20405 North 700 East, Dunkirk, was arrested for class D felony theft. Brandon G. Wilburn, 18, 648 N. Hickory St., Dunkirk, was arrested for class C felony burglary and class D felony theft. Curtis A. Faught, 21, 324 Jaqua Ave., Portland, was arrested for class C felony burglary and class D felony theft by borrowing.
The teens and Faught were arrested after a caller reported to police that there was a boy on her back patio. Dunkirk police chief Arnold Clevenger said Faught and the teens were taking items from garages and vehicles along the east-west alley between North and Center streets between 4 and 6 a.m. on Monday. They were taking the items to Sewell’s car parked in the alley behind a 373 E. North St. residence or stacking them between garages.
Clevenger added that the items were recovered, but police are still investigating who the items belong to. He estimated that approximately five residents had items stolen.
Both Faught and Wilburn are being held at the Jay County Jail on $13,000 bond, and Sewell was being held at the jail on $3,000 bond.
Schedules
Fort Recovery high and middle school students can pick up their class schedules on Aug. 11. Schedules will be available in the respective offices from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. At that time parents and students may tour the high school building to locate their classrooms.
The middle and elementary schools will have open building from 5 until 7 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 14.
School fees
Textbook rentals and class fees for Jay County High School students are listed on pages 6 and 7 of today’s CR. Fees for elementary and middle school pupils were published Saturday.

Over the weekend and into next week, look for partly cloudy skies, highs in the lower 80s, and lows in the lower 60s.
