Services for Simion "Sam" Androne, 80, 141 Watkins Road, Fort Recovery, are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home in Fort Recovery with the Rev. George Hughes officiating. He died Tuesday at his home.
Born in Transylvania, Romania, he is survived by his wife Helen (Muhlenkamp) Androne, whom he married on May 3, 1964, in Mount Clements, Mich.
He had worked as a chef and attended Word of Evangelist in Union City, Ohio.
Surviving besides his wife are four sons, Sam R. Androne, Michael Androne, Bill Androne and John Androne, all of Fort Recovery; two daughters, Mrs. Steve (Rosemary) Mestemaker, Rossburg, Ohio, and Mrs. Randy (Pam) Sanders, Fort Recovery; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation is Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Fort Recovery.

A celebration of life service was held today for Edna Cook-Modesitt, 103, Farmland. The stepmother of a Portland woman, she died Saturday at Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center in Parker City.
Born in Farmland to Albert L. and Millie Elma (Garringer) Stephens, she was preceded in death by her first husband Guy Harrison Cook in 1966 and her second husband Vern N. Modesitt in 2006.
Survivors include two daughters; a son; two stepdaughters, including Vickie Hart, Portland; a stepson; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
MJS Mortuaries-Farmland Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
