COUNTY ACCIDENT
A pick-up truck driven by a Dunkirk man collided with a deer on Monday at 10:10 p.m. in Richland Township.
Tony D. Fisher, 28, 120 Pearl St., told police he was northbound on Ind. 1, just north of county road 400 South, when he was unable to avoid a deer that ran onto the road.
Fisher was driving a 1994 Ford Ranger, which sustained an estimated $1,000 to $2,500 in damage.
GENEVA ACCIDENT
A van driven by a Celina, Ohio man backed into a parked car on Line Street in Geneva on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
Charles L. Farber, 63, 5184 Its It Road, Celina, was backing from a parking space on Line Street about 20 feet west of High Street, when he struck a car, registered to Betty L. Overdorf, 62, 204 North Drive, Geneva.
Damage to Farber’s 1986 Chevrolet van and Overdorf’s 2000 Toyota Avalon was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
JCSWD MEETING
Members of the board of directors of the Jay County Solid Waste District will hold a brief special meeting Monday to approve an additional appropriation for 2004 budget funds.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held in the commissioners’ room at the Jay County Courthouse beginning at 3 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
