Max Claycomb

Services were held today for Max Edwin Claycomb, 82, Columbia, Tenn. A Redkey native, he died at his daughter's home in Columbia.
The son of Lea Samuel and Melba Lucille (Walters) Claycomb, he was a 1948 graduate of Redkey High School.
He was married on June 19, 1948, to Mary Catherine Clark, who died on June 28, 2000.
A veteran of the United States Army, he served during World War II and the Korean War.
He graduated from Ford Motor Company Tool and Die School and worked for Tomkin Tool and Die Company in Muncie.
Survivors include four daughters, Marcia Claycomb, Columbia, Tenn., Mrs. John (Becky) Taylor, Catlettsburg, Ky., Mrs. Bob (Jane) Reidenbach, Decatur, and Susan Smith, Mobile, Ala.; two sons, Jack Claycomb, Lodi, Calif., and Ted Claycomb, Rydal, Ga.; three sisters, Barbara Broadbent, Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Bill (Mary) Reese, Redkey, and Mrs. Ron (Carolyn) Biehl, Parma, Ohio; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Tuesday and prior to services today at MJS. Mortuaries-Redkey Chapel. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Redkey.[[In-content Ad]]
