Home burglary
Several items were stolen from a rural Portland resident's home on Tuesday.
Phyllis Giddings, 11772 West Division Road, told Jay County police that a 32-inch television, three gold rings, three gold necklaces, two gold watches, a safe, an antique dresser drawer and two pillow cases were stolen.
Also, a steel door and doorframe were damaged, along with a storm door. The burglary occurred between 8:45 a.m. and 12:50 p.m.
A woman told police that she saw a white van stop near Giddings' home. Three people exited the vehicle. One went into a wooded area and the others took photographs. The witness told police this incident occurred about 9:15 a.m. Tuesday.[[In-content Ad]]
