Parts stolen
A rural Portland man called to report several car parts were stolen from his property sometime before Tuesday afternoon.
Richard Konger, 4775 East 600 South, told police that some items were stolen out of a car sitting on the south end of the property. A radiator, air conditioner and battery were taken out of the 1977 Plymouth Sport Fury.
Three batteries were also taken from outside the shop on the property.
The theft was reported at 1:33 p.m.
Hit rail
A vehicle driven by a Farmland man hit a guardrail after the driver swerved to avoid deer Tuesday night in Richland Township.
Cody S. Napler, 23, 311 New York St., was driving northeast on Ind. 67 near county road 800 South, when several deer ran onto the road. Napler swerved to avoid the deer and struck a guardrail.
An estimated $2,500 to $5,000 in damage was caused to the 1998 Chevrolet Blazer, registered to Betty S. Louk, same address as driver, in the 8:15 p.m. accident.[[In-content Ad]]
