Jeffery Blackford
Jeffery D. Blackford, 51, a Portland native, died Sunday at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.
Born on May 3, 1957, to Paul E. and Mary Dean (Pogue) Blackford, he graduated from Jay County High School in 1976.
He was married on June 9, 1979, in Portland, to Deborah L. Brown, who survives.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, he was employed at American Airlines in Tulsa.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Michael Blackford, Tulsa; a daughter, Erin Blackford, Tulsa; his mother and stepfather, Mary Dean and Virgil Brackman, Portland; a sister, Mrs. Larry (Sue) Brandenburg, Portland; three stepbrothers, including Paul Brackman, Portland; two stepsisters; a niece and nephew; two aunts; one uncle and several cousins.
Services are Thursday at 3 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Okla. Burial will be in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 500 N. Broadway, Suite 250, Oklahoma City, OK 73102.
Zachary May
Services were held Saturday for Zachary Paul May, 26, Bloomington. The son-in-law of Portland residents, he died May 4 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Neb., after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on Oct. 31, 1981, in St. Louis.
His wife Dara M. (Taylor) May survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Jody May; his stepmother, Debra Mitchell; his father, Michael May and stepmother, Ann St. John; two brothers; a sister; his in-laws, Chuck and Bonnie Taylor, Portland; and grandparents, including Charles and Deanna Jackson, Portland, and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the "Team Zachary" fund at the University of Nebraska Medical Center for lymphoma research (www.nufoundation.org/teamzachary).
Day Funeral Home in Bloomington was in charge of the arrangements.

Irene Wiley
Irene E. Wiley, 90, CrownPointe Communities, Portland, died Tuesday at CrownPointe.
Born on July 28, 1917, in Noble Township in Jay County, to Noah and Nora (Hartzell) Shauver, she was married on March 2, 1940, to James R. Wiley, who died on March 28, 1999.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Circle of the church.
She and her husband farmed in Noble Township and owned and operated Wiley Well Drilling for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Larry J. Wiley and Robert W. Wiley, both of rural Union City; a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Nancy) Girtman, Mulberry; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Rittenhouse officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, west of Fort Recovery.
Visitation is Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to State of the Heart Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
