Local notes
Rocket workout is May 20
The Portland Rockets will hold a workout and tryout session May 20.
The session will be at 2 p.m. at Portland Memorial Park’s Runkle-Miller Field.
Fans are invited to attend.

Monroe Lions 5K is June 2
The Monroe Lions Club 5K Run/Walk will be June second.
The even will begin at 8:15 a.m. at the Adams County 4-H Fairgrounds. The registration fee is $15 and the deadline is May 25.

Community swim is Sunday
The Jay County High School pool will be open for a community swim session Sunday.
The community swim will run from 2 to 4 p.m., and the admission fee is $2. An adult must accompany children 12 and younger.

IHSAA meetings scheduled
The IHSAA is hosting meetings to discuss single-class versus multi-class athletics.
There will be meetings May 10 at Marion and May 16 at Connersville.
All meetings will begin at 7 p.m.
