Accused of
strangulation, battery
A Jay County man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly choking and beating his girlfriend.
Franklin R. Rose, 30, 12406 West Ind. 67, Albany, was arrested for attempted strangulation, a class D felony, and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
According to Jay County police, a woman Rose had been living with went to the apartment Tuesday to retrieve her belongings. He allegedly choked her, dragged her outside the apartment, and beat her head against his car.
Rose was being held in the Jay County Jail this morning on a $4,000 bond.

Arrested for forgery
A Portland man was arrested Tuesday on a Mercer County, Ohio, warrant.
Ma Del Carmen A. Mejia, 28, 216 Pittsburg Ave., was arrested by Jay County police on four counts of forgery, all fifth-degree felonies.
Mercer County police transferred him from the Jay County Jail to the Mercer County Jail later that day.[[In-content Ad]]
