Wehrkamp reaches regional (10/05/05)

CELINA, Ohio — Fort Recovery will have one player continue on in the state golf tournament.

Senior Jill Wehrkamp shot a 95 Tuesday at the district tournament at The Fox’s Den Golf Course in Celina.

Her score qualified her to move on the regional tournament Tuesday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course in Arlington.

Fort Recovery placed sixth as a team. Lima Central Catholic was the district champion.

BERNE — South Adams dropped its opening match of the Allen County Athletic Conference tournament Tuesday 25-18, 25-22 to the Leo Lions.

Leo had also won the regular-season meeting between the two teams, 25-23, 22-25, 25-16, 25-22.

Alyssa Miller paced South Adams Tuesday as she finished with 14 assists. She also had four digs and two blocks.

Renee Neuenschwander had eight kills and five digs, both team highs, and Brooke Fox finished with five digs and three kills. Andrea Moser added four blocks.[[In-content Ad]]
