West Jay names honor roll
Taking Note
West Jay Middle School honor roll students were recently named for the first nine-week grading period.
Sixth graders making the A honor roll were Alli Campbell and Jacob Geesaman.
Sixth grade students making the A-B honor roll were Spencer Calvert, Courtney Cox, John Crosbie, Kaitlyn Grady, Dakota Grove, Andrew Gunckel, Jocelyn Huey, Megan Johnson, Allison Louck, Maddison Louck, Kyndal Miller, Victoria Outcalt, Lillian Rogers, Leigha Stachler, Britiany Steury, Luke Swartz, Antonio Vazquez and Jared Wright.
Seventh graders making the A honor roll were Kenneth Harp, Emily Jobe, Elara Moore-Snyder, Courtney Rickmeyer and Josh Vaughn.
Seventh grade students making the A-B honor roll were Devyn Alexander, Travis Barton, Alec Burcham, Mason Cochran, Emily Fisher, Julia Garringer, Drew Huffman, Braden Jones, Serrena McCaffery, Logan Miller, Jesse Moles, Luke Moles, Jake Moore, Morgan Phillips, Sidney Pitman, Jacob Scott, Joey Springer, Harley Stewart, Aaron Toney, Emilie Walter and Jillian Young.

October students
West Jay Middle School named its Students of the Month for October.
In sixth grade was Jared Wright, the son of Larry Wright and Beth Patterson.
In seventh grade was Ellie Moore-Snyder, the daughter of Dan Snyder and Deceil Moore.
In eighth grade was Kristen Simons, the daughter of Duane and Shelia Simons.
Support group
A support group for parents of special needs children has been meeting the second Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at General Shanks Elementary.
The group is for parents who have a special needs child of any age and with any disability.

Attends convention
A Tri Kappa Province Convention was held recently in Tipton.
Members of the local Beta Theta Chapter of Tri Kappa who attended were Jodi McKee and Heather Hedges.
Attending from the Associate Chapter were Linda Ashcraft, Gretchen Young and Rosemary Loucks.
Beta Theta was recognized for giving to Riley Children’s Foundation, Ronald McDonald House and Riley Cheer Guild.
Book signing
Jeannine Poole, author of “More than A Gift: Making Meaningful Memories,” will have a book talk and signing on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Jay County Public Library.
