Wherrys celebrate 60th
Robert and Donna Wherry, 428 W. High St., Portland, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary today.
Robert married Donna Van Matre on June 23, 1951, in Pennville.
Donna retired as secretary of the Jay County Sheriff’s Department and Robert retired as owner and operator of The City Cigar Store, Portland.
They are the parents of Connie Irwin (husband: Tim), Portland, Bobby Wherry, deceased, and Jama Pensinger (husband: Guy), Portland. They have four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
