Darrel and Faye Williamson, 41 West 275 South, Portland, are celebrating their 50th anniversary with an open house on Saturday in the Patriot Room at Holiday Inn Express in Portland.
Darrel married Faye Evans on Oct. 30, 1960, at the E.U.B. Church (now Trinity United Methodist) in Portland with the Rev. L.G.D. Wertz officiating.
Faye graduated from Governor I.P. Gray High School. She worked as a secretary for the Jay School Corporation and later as a job coach at Jay County High School and Winchester High School.
Darrel graduated from Portland High School and Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne as a mechanical engineer. He retired from Micro-Precision, Textron, in Berne after 25 years.
They are members of Asbury United Methodist Church.
The couple are the parents of Denise Coulis (husband: Louie), Plymouth, Wis., Rick Williamson (wife: Irena), Forest, Va., and Mike Williamson (wife: Darcie), Carmel. They also have five grandchildren.
