WJMS honor roll announced (11/23/07)
Taking Note
Students making the honor roll for the first nine week grading period at West Jay Middle School were recently announced.
Making the all A honor roll in sixth grade were Betsy Huffman and Brooke Hurst.
Sixth grade students making the A-B honor roll were Tiffany Barton, Darrian Bechtol, Blake Bennett, Brea Burcham, Rylee Clemmons, Kimbra Edwards, Jenna Ferguson, Jesse Finnerty, Takoa Knight Jon Lowe, Evan Masters, Chaz McClain, Ashley Motter, Quentin Smith, Alex Thompson and Katherine Wilson.
Seventh grade students making the all A honor roll were Tasha McCowan, Laura Morrison, Clayton Scott and Shelby Wendel.
Making the A-B honor roll in seventh grade were Tyler Back, Donnie Cosner, Kennedi Craw, Blake Crouch, Jason Farmer, Lainelee Flowers, Audrey Hall, Courtney Knight, Colton McCallister, Raistlin Rice and Cody Schaadt.
Caz Lawhorn made the all A honor roll in eighth grade.
Eighth grade students making the A-B honor roll were Taylor Caldwell, Jessica Chittum, Devin Conatser, Dylan Friddle, Chance Fuller, Morton Garringer, Tayler Grayson, Aaron Helm, Zach Johnson, Liz Lennartz, Mackenzie McIntire, Tiffany Moore, Marissa Murrell, Jessica Ooten, Melinda Penrod, Megan Roush, Stephen Scott, Kelsey Sell, Leanna Shawver, Matt Shrack and Shannon Springer.
Band winners
Jay Patriot Band members Laura Vogler, Colton Bickel and Lee Haggenjos were recently selected to Indiana "All-State" ensembles.
Laura was selected as a member of the "All-State Honors band baritone section, Colton was selected as a member of the "All-State" percussion ensemble and Lee was selected as an alternate for the "All-State" Honors band trumpet section.
The Honors band and the percussion ensemble will perform on Jan. 19 at the Indianapolis Convention Center from noon until 3 p.m. as part of the Indiana Music Educators Convention.
Boxes sent
Fort Recovery Church of the Nazarene members recently collected and packed 350 boxes of clothing to be sent overseas.
Cheeseman Trucking Company will deliver the boxes to the Nazarene Ministries warehouse in Pennsylvania.
The boxes will then be sent to Zambia for AIDS orphans and the Ukraine and Poland to help impoverished children.[[In-content Ad]]
