WJMS top students announced

Taking note

West Jay Middle School recently named its Students of the Month for March.
In sixth grade was Luke Swartz, the son of Matthew and Emily Swartz; in seventh grade was K.C. Harp, the son of Ken and Heather Harp; in eighth grade was Charles Shreeve, the son of Roger and Karen Shreeve.

Conference
National Center for Great Lakes Native American Culture will host the academic conference “Major Woodlands Battles” on Saturday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 3  p.m. at John Jay Center for Learning in Portland.

Spring program
Purdue Cooperative Extension Service and Jay County Extension Homemakers will offer a Spring Program Day on Thursday, April 21, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Jay County Public Library
.
“How to Stress Less” will begin at 3 p.m. with Robin Williams from Madison County.
“Food Preservation Basics” with Kristi Henry from Jay and Blackford counties will begin at 4 p.m.
Dinner will be at 5 p.m. and “The Power of Stretching” by Emily Becker of Henry County will begin at 6 p.m.
The day of programs will conclude at 7 p.m. with “Get Going with Great Grains” by Kristi Henry.

Library week
Fort Recovery Public Library will celebrate National Library Week Monday, April 11, through Saturday, April 16. The  library will be closed Thursday.
Stop in Monday for a free drink from International Coffee Service, fines will be discounted by 50 percent on Tuesday and enter a drawing to win tickets to a Cincinnati Reds ball game to be held July 27.
