Woodlan drops Stars to 1-4 in ACAC

South Adams roundup

BERNE - The Starfires are a 10-3 team out of the Allen County Athletic Conference. League play has not been so kind.

After leading 2-1 most of the way, the Starfires (11-7, 1-4 ACAC) fell behind when Woodlan scored twice in the top of the sixth inning. SAHS pulled even in the bottom of the frame and the game went to extra innings, but the Warriors scored twice again in the top of the eighth.

South Adams got back one of the runs, but could not push the game to a ninth inning.

Ashton Morgan took the loss, giving up five runs - four earned - on five hits and five walks. She struck out 13 batters.

Liz Smith finished 3-for-4 for the Starfires with a double, a run and an RBI.

Karen Bollenbacher drove in two runs with a double, and also scored a run.
