Workshop set at library (10/30/07)
Taking Note
National Center for Great Lakes Native American Culture will have a children's workshop on Saturday at from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Jay County Public Library.
The workshop "Everybody Needs a Rock" will be taught by Bonita Bent Nelson from South Bend. Children, ages six and older, will get to see animal fur, tanned hides and nature items.

Stone Soup
Ball State University Theatre Education Department's "Stone Soup" will perform on Friday at the Muncie Children's Museum from 3 to 7 p.m. during Friends and Family Fun Night. The group will perform "The Hello, Goodbye Window" by Norton Juster, "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein, "When the Library Lights Go Out" by Megan McDonald and "The Bugliest Bug" by Carol Diggory Shields.
A Make "n Take craft will also be made and children may participate in the "I'm Thankful For" tree. The museum is located at 515 S. High St. in Muncie.
Math Day
Three eighth-grade students from West Jay Middle School recently attended Math Day at Ball State University. Attending were Melinda Penrod, Pennville, Jessica Ooten, Redkey, and Megan Roush, Bryant.

The following displays are being featured at Minnetrista Cultural Center of Muncie, 1200 N. Minnetrista Parkway in Muncie.
White River Turtles: Paintings by Brian Gordy is on display through Jan. 12.
Indiana Acres: The Changing Face of the Family Farm is on display through Jan. 20.
Anne Frank: A History for Today is on display through January 20 at Minnetrista Cultural Center of Muncie. The exhibit depicts Anne Frank's life story using family photos and passages from her diary and is enhanced by testimony and powerful imagery from Holocaust survivors.
B'ruchim Habaim: Midwestern Sanctuary is on display through Jan. 20.
Minnetrista is having a gingerbread contest. Entry forms and fees are due by Monday, Nov. 5. For more information, call (765) 282-4848.
