Yoder, Lehman lead SA tankers (11/19/03)

Junior Chelsea Yoder and freshman Haleigh Lehman powered the South Adams girls swim team as it crushed the DeKalb Barons Tuesday 120-50.
Yoder and Lehman each won a pair of individual events and contributed to two relay victories. They led the Starfires to wins in all but two of the 11 events on the evening.
Yoder set the pace in a 1-2-3 finish in the 50-yard freestyle with teammates Robyn Habegger and Talitha Maven, winning in a time of 28:03. She finished ahead of Margaret Beymer in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:02.47.
Lehman led South Adams to two more 1-2 finishes, first winning the 200-yard freestyle in 2:16.75 with Alyse Hoover in second. Lehman was also first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:09.41 with Whitney Liechty two seconds back.
Yoder and Lehman teamed with Beymer and Hoover for first in the 200-yard relay in 1:55.53, and joined with Ashley Gresla and Beymer for a time of 4:25.76 to win the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Other individual victories for the Starfires came from Channing Yoder in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:21.72) and Gresla in the 500-yard freestyle (6:44.86).
Channing Yoder, Gresla, Liechty and Habegger teamed to win the 200-yard medley relay in 2:12.07.
South Adams (1-0) will swim at home again Thursday against Fort Wayne South Side at 5:30 p.m.
Football combine
The Hoosier Gridiron Winter High School Football Combine is scheduled for Dec. 7 at DePauw University in Greencastle.
The combine is open to any high school football player who has a desire to play at the collegiate level. Participants will be evaluated in the 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump, standing long jump and other events, with the results being made available to more than 200 collegiate coaches.
There will also be an information session for parents and coaches regarding the NCAA Clearinghouse, financial aid, NCAA recruiting rules and the college admissions process.
