Former Jay County residents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Youngblood, Hill Top Lakes, Texas, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Saturday, May 15, from 2 until 5 p.m. at the Parker City Fire Department.
Robert "Bob" and the former Veda Smith were wed on April 1, 1960.
Veda retired from the Portland Post Office and Bob retired from General Motors.
The couple are the parents of David Lowman (wife: Brenda), Victor Lowman, Terri Snyder (husband: Dave), Vince Lowman (wife: Darleen), Karen Smith (husband: Larry), Teresa Lowman and Randy Youngblood (wife: Loretta). They also have six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
