Tribe has 11 All-MAC players
FRHS football
The Fort Recovery High School football team has had one of the best seasons in program history.
The Midwest Athletic Conference has taken notice.
Eleven Indians were recognized by the conference for their efforts on the gridiron.
Cole Hull and Wes Wenning earned first-team all-conference honors. Hull, a senior, was selected as a running back and Wenning, a junior, was named as a wide receiver.
Evan Schoen was given second team nod for both offense and defense as a tight end and outside linebacker respectively.
Tony Keller, Nick Link, Nate Locthefeld, Seth Riegle, Alex Schoen, Kyle Schroer, Darien Scheffer and Mitch Stammen were all honorable mention.
Hull has been a catalyst this season for the FRHS offense. He set new school records in rushing yards (1,318), rushing touchdowns (15) and scoring (104 points).
Wenning has also put his name in the record book, matching the school record for TD catches in a game when he reeled in three Oct. 24 against St. Henry. His 173 receiving yards against the Redskins ranks fourth all-time for single-game yards. The junior also has eight touchdown receptions on the season, which ranks third in program history.
The Tribe finished the season 6-4, tying a school record for wins, and the Indians will make their first playoff appearance at 7 p.m. Saturday at Fort Loramie (7-3).
