Ran off road
A Hartford City woman was involved in an accident Friday afternoon in Wayne Township.
Heather Dulworth, 23, 6935 N. 100 West, told Jay County Sheriff’s Office she was traveling east on Ind. 26 near county road 300 West when she missed the turn and ran her 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser off the road.
She was taken to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Damage in the 2:55 p.m. accident was estimated to be between $10,000 and $25,000.
Walmart theft
A Walmart employee reported a theft to Portland police Friday afternoon.
The employee told police a shoplifter was taken to the office at 950 W. Votaw St, Portland. The shoplifter then shoved an employee and ran from the store, according to police records.
The theft was reported at 5:43 p.m.
An investigation is ongoing.
Plaque stolen
A City of Portland employee reported a theft to police Friday afternoon.
The employee told police someone took a dedication plaque from Portland Pool on Hayes Street in the last three weeks.
The theft was reported at 1 p.m.
