Duane and Louise Harter, 431 E. 7th St., Portland, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Thursday. Duane married Louise Brown on Nov. 13, 1964, at First Church of God.
They are planning to celebrate by renewing their vows, followed by an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. and a 50s sock hop from 7 to 9 p.m., both for family and friends, in the Moose Lodge Ballroom, 1224 W. Votaw St. in Portland. Those attending the sock hop are welcome to dress in 50s style clothing.
Louise is retired from the Jay School Corporation and Duane is self-employed.
They are the parents of Micheal Harter (wife: Tammy), Richmond, and Mitchell Harter (wife: Lisa), Portland. They also have 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
