Old movies to be shown at Limberlost
Taking Note
Movies, based on books by Gene-Stratton-Porter, will be shown Saturday at the Limberlost State Historic Site Visitor Center in Geneva.
The movies will be shown from 2 to 5 p.m. and will include “Laddie: A True Blue Story” from 1940 and “A Girl of the Limberlost” from 1934.
Randy Lehman, Limberlost State Historic Site manager, will compare the books to the movies, discuss scenes of interest and answer questions.
Refreshments will be served. Advance tickets are $7 or $10 on Saturday. To order tickets, call (260) 368-7428.
Special meeting
The Stitch ‘N Chatter Quilt Club will host a special meeting for anyone who quilts and may be interested in joining the club. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Church of the Brethren, located at Floral and Chicago avenues in Portland. For more information, call (260) 726-2705.
