Felony arrests
Dealing cocaine
Two Pennville residents were arrested Saturday evening following a Drug Task Force investigation.
Paul Bennington, 6717 W. 600 North, is charged with two counts of dealing cocaine, both Class B felonies.
Jennifer Myers, 250 E. Maple St., is charged with dealing cocaine, a Class A felony, dealing cocaine, a Class B felony, and dealing/possession of cocaine, a Class C felony.
The pair were arrested Saturday when deputies from Jay County Sheriff’s Office went to Bennington’s address to serve arrest warrants.
While there, deputies allegedly found drug paraphernalia and smelled a methamphetamine lab.
Jay County Drug Task Force gained a search warrant and allegedly located a methamphetamine lab in Bennington’s home.
Bennington was booked at 8:45 p.m. Saturday into Jay County Jail, where he remains under a $45,000 bond.
Myers was booked at 9:34 p.m. into Jay County Jail, where she remains under a $76,000 bond.
Dealing heroine
A Portland man was arrested Friday afternoon following a traffic stop and preliminarily charged with dealing a narcotic drug, a Class A felony.
Colten Chapman, 20, 2447 S. Blaine Pike, was arrested Friday after an officer with Jay County Drug Task Force followed him from Dayton, Ohio, to Jay County and allegedly witnessed Chapman using a syringe.
The Drug Task Force stopped Chapman in Jay County and arrested him on the charge stemming from an investigation during the summer.
He was allegedly dealing near a family housing complex.
He was booked at 2:27 p.m. into Jay County Jail, where he remains under a $75,000 bond.
