Rolling collision
Two vehicles owned by Jay County residents were involved in a collision Wednesday afternoon in Portland.
Brent VanSkyock, 1513 W. 500 South, Portland, told officers when he was in Citizens State Bank, 1221 Meridian St., Portland, a woman came in to tell him his parked vehicle was rolling backwards in the parking lot. By the time VanSkyock got to his 1983 GMC K25, it had collided with a parked 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche.
The Chevrolet is registered to Drury Hall, 4175 S. 1000 West, Dunkirk. Hall was inside Pawn Brokers during the time of the collision.
Damage in the 3:04 p.m. accident was estimated to be between $1,000 and $2,500.

Deer struck
A Portland man was involved in a collision Wednesday morning in Noble Township.
Andrew Landon, 37, 2683 N. 600 East, told officers he was driving west on county road 100 North, near county road 500 East, when his 2005 Ford E350 struck a deer. Landon told officers he didn’t see the deer before the collision.
Damage in the 6 a.m. accident was estimated to be less than $1,000.

Fallen tree struck
A Portland man was involved in an accident Thursday evening in Wayne Township.
Dakota Derrickson, 19, 648 S. 200 West, was driving west on county road 200 South near Blaine Pike, when he went over a hill in a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, registered to Chad Derrickson, same address. He told officers he saw a large tree had fallen onto the road and attempted to swerve, but was unable to avoid hitting it.
Damage in the 6:30 p.m. accident was estimated to be between $1,000 and $2,500.

Deer collision
A Union City woman was involved in a collision Thursday evening in Pike Township.
Leanne Denlinger, 46, 4542 N. Stateline Road, told officers she was traveling south on U.S. 27 near county road 500 South when a deer walked onto the road. She told officers she was unable to avoid hitting the deer with her 2002 Dodge Durango.
Damage in the 8:24 p.m. accident was estimated to be between $1,000 and $2,500.
