The Patriots will get the rematch they wanted.
Jay County’s boys tennis team defeated the Randolph Southern Rebels 4-1 in the sectional semifinal on Wednesday, advancing to Thursday’s championship match against the Winchester Golden Falcons.
Winchester defeated the Union City Indians 4-1, to set up a rematch with the Patriots.
JCHS got wins at No. 1 singles and No. 2 singles from Zach Pryor and Alex Krieg respectively. The Patriots’ No. 1 doubles team of Jay Houck and Adam Jutte also won, and Sok Vormohr teamed up with Garrett Rodgers to win No. 2 doubles.
Alex Clark retired at No. 3 singles because of an injury.
