Miller breaks record again

Eme Miller broke her own 5K school record Sept. 13. On Saturday, she took care of the 6K mark.
The 2012 Jay County High School graduate ran to yet another Defiance College record as she finished 12th at the NCAA Division III Pre National Meet hosted by Wilmington.
Miller improved on the record she set last season by more than 40 seconds as she crossed the finish line in 21 minutes, 34.19 seconds. Her time led the Yellow Jackets as they were 23rd in the 27-team tournament.
She set her previous mark of 22:37.9 at the 2013 Great Lakes Regional.

Alyssa Bluhm
South Adams – 2013
Saw action in one set for the Taylor University volleyball team Friday in its 15-25, 25-14, 25-23, 25-20 victory over Goshen.
Bluhm has three attack attempts in the win, but did not record a kill. She has played in nine matches this year and has 13 kills, four blocks, three digs and one assist.

Drew Houck
Jay County – 2011
Played for the Indiana University East men’s golf team Saturday as it finished fourth while hosting the Liberty Country Club Fall Invitational.
Houck shot 84 in his opening round. He added an 83 on the par-70 course to finish fifth on the Red Wolves squad and 24th overall.

Tim Lehman
South Adams – 2012
Competed for the Goshen College men’s cross country team Saturday as it finished seventh at the Bissman-Lundeen Invitational hosted by Augustana College.
Lehman finished the 8K course with a time of 28 minutes, 4.5 seconds. He was 195th overall.
