JC spikers to face Spartans

INDIANAPOLIS — The Patriots will get a chance to avenge last season’s sectional championship loss.
In the IHSAA volleyball sectional draw held this morning, the Jay County High School volleyball team got an opening round match against the Homestead Spartans in Class 4A Sectional 6.
The Patriots will square off against Homestead, which was 15th in the most recent Class 4A poll voting and ended Jay County’s season last year, at 6 p.m. Oct. 23 at Fort Wayne South Side.
The winner will advance to the second semifinal at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 25 against the Wayne Generals.
South Side will play Huntington North in the first semifinal at 11 a.m. Oct. 25, with the championship slated for 6 p.m. the same day.
The South Adams Starfires will open the Class 2A Sectional 26 tournament against the Woodlan Warriors at Bluffton.
Eastside will play host Bluffton at 7 p.m. Oct. 21. Adams Central plays Churubusco at 6 p.m. Oct. 23, with the Starfires and Warriors set to meet 30 minutes after.
The Eastside-Bluffton winner advances to the semifinal against Canterbury at 10 a.m. Oct. 25. The second semifinal will be 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first, and the time for the championship is yet to be determined.
