Quilt enthusiasts invited to meeting
Taking Note
Anyone interested in quilting is invited to a special informational meeting of the Stitch ‘n Chatter Quilt Club.
It will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Church of the Brethren, located at Floral and Chicago avenues in Portland.
Come and share ideas.
Gilley to perform
Country music legend Mickey Gilley will perform at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at Jamie Coyne’s Bearcreek Memories Dinner Theater in Celina, Ohio.

BrickFest
Fort Recovery will have a BrickFest beginning at 5 p.m. Oct. 25 in downtown Fort Recovery. Food and beverages will be available at local restaurants and there will be an auction. The Ohio State University versus Penn State game will be shown at 8 p.m. on a big screen.
Proceeds will benefit the Fort Recovery Athletic Boosters.
To perform
Mandy Barnett, a native of Crossville, Tenn., will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1 at Hall-Moser Theatre at Arts Place, 131 E. Walnut St. in Portland.
Barnett began singing at age 5 and as a teenager starred as country music legend Patsy Cline in the stage show “Always…Patsy Cline.”
She is a frequent guest on the Grand Ole Opry live radio program. Her albums include “I’ve Got a Right to Cry,” which was named the top country album of 1999 by Rolling Stone, “Sweet Dreams,” which includes songs recorded by Cline, “Winter Wonderland,” available at Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores and “The Songs of Don Gibson (Country Music Hall of Fame member).”
