Last week at Heritage: Jay County held Heritage scoreless on its first two possessions, but the visiting Patriots scored on each of its final six drives for a 42-6 win in a battle of the Patriots. Joey Link found Cole Stigleman for a 5-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter for Jay County’s only score.
Season leaders: Passing — Nick?Clemens – 16-of-38 for 131 yards and four interceptions. Rushing — Cole Stigleman – 86 carries for 661 yards and six touchdowns. Receiving — Levi Stant – three catches for 54 yards and one touchdown. Defense — Mario Rodriguez – 49 tackles. Cameron Kunkle – six tackles for loss.

Marion Giants
Marion, 0-9 (0-7)

Conference: North Central Conference
Last week vs. Harrison: The Harrison Raiders took advantage of a pair of turnovers and held Marion to just 70 yards of offense in a 31-0 shutout of the visiting Giants. Harrison racked up 440 yards of total offense and scored in all four quarters. MHS quarterback Lorenzo Trevino had 20 yards through the air and eight Giants combined for 50 rushing yards.
Season leaders: Passing — Lorenzo Trevino – 48-of-126 for 692 yards, eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Rushing — Will Collins – 70 carries for 623 yards and five touchdowns. Receiving — Darrick Jones – 14 catches for 277 yards and two touchdowns. Defense — Wyatt Brown – 68 total tackles; Spencer Brown – 10.5 tackles for loss.
Last meeting: Jay County picked off freshman quarterback Trevino four times and had four different players score touchdowns in a 50-16 rout in the Sectional 20 quarterfinal last season in Portland. JCHS senior fullback J.D.?Mangas racked up 214 yards and three scores on 18 carries as the Patriots totaled 433 yards on offense.
Game notes: Marion finished its season with a 1-8 record, but was forced to forfeit its season-opening victory against Madison-Grant after it was revealed the?Giants used an ineligible player. MHS self-reported the violation ... Jay County is 1-2 all-time against Marion and will be playing the Giants for the third time in four seasons. All three previous meetings were in the postseason ... Marion’s last postseason win was in 2011 against the?Patriots, a 56-19 thumping in Portland ... Both of the Patriots’ wins this season have come away from Jay County, a 21-14 victory Aug. 29 at Blackford and a 54-50 thriller Sept. 19 at Bluffton.
