Medicare sign-up to be held at JCH
Taking Note
Representatives from LifeStream will visit Jay County Hospital to help with Medicare Part D sign-up or re-enrollment.
They will be there from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 29 and Nov. 19.
Bring a list of medications and Medicare cards. For more information, call (765) 759-1121 or (800) 589-1121.
Dinner meeting
The Jay County Historical Society annual dinner meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 18 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Portland.
The theme will be events from 1814, including the construction of the concrete bow string truss arc bridge. An election of board of directors will also be held.
Cubed steak, cheesy potatoes, green beans, Chinese slaw, roll and pumpkin dessert will be served by the Joy Circle of the church.
The cost is $10. Reservations may be made at the museum or sent to 903 E. Main St., Portland, IN 47371. The deadline is Nov. 12.
New database
Genealogists are welcome to use the new database “Information for Genealogy Research for Individuals Associated to Jay County,” at the Jay County Historical Museum, 903 E. Main St. in Portland.
The database was provided by Jay County native John May.
