Museum of Soldier meeting is Saturday
Taking Note
Museum of the Soldier will have its 15th annual meeting at 6 p.m. Saturday at East Jay Middle School.
The guest of honor will be James H. “Pee Wee” Martin from Company G 506th PIR 101st Airborne.

Creatures
Limberlost State Historic Site will present Creatures of the Night on Friday.
Participants should meet at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Loblolly Pavilion at the Loblolly Marsh Nature Preserve.
There will be a night hike in the woods, followed by a campfire and marshmallow roasting.
The Loblolly Marsh parking lot is located at 8323 N. 250 West, a half-mile north of Ind. 18 on 250 West, 3.5 miles west of Bryant. For more information, call (260) 368-7428.
Mobile wall
The Mobile Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall will be displayed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 30 through May 3 at Winchester Community High School, 700 Union St. in Winchester.
The Mobile Vietnam Veterans Memorial from Antelope Valley, California, is a half-scale replica of the original Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall.
A welcome home parade to honor the 40th anniversary of the return of Vietnam veterans will be held at 3 p.m. on May 2, followed by the Dave Liles Band performing a concert at 6 p.m. at Goodrich Park in Winchester.

Fun Night
Jay Community Center will have a Family Fun Night on May 1. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., family games will be begin at 6 p.m. and free pizza and pop will be served at 6:30 p.m. Ventriloquist David Crone and his cast of characters will provide entertainment at 7 p.m.
The evening is free. JCC is located at 115 E. Water St. in Portland.
Go Ivy Day
Area high school students are invited to Go Ivy Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 1 at Ivy Tech Community College Northeast in Fort Wayne.
Students are to meet in the Student Life Center on North Campus, 3701 Dean Drive. They can explore the campus and meet with faculty members and there will be a free lunch for students and guests and a free t-shirt.

Minnetrista in Muncie has Hands-On Harley-Davidson exhibit on display through May 10, and the Twenty-Fifth Minnetrista Annual Juried Art Show & Sale continues through May 3.
