Arts Center to host class
Taking Note
The Blackford County Arts Center, 107 W. Washington St., Hartford City, will hold a needle felting class from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday with Carol Tropf as the instructor.
Needle felting uses barbed needles to interlock wool fibers to form a more condensed material. The cost is $35.
The center will also host a free event between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12.
Children in kindergarten through sixth grade are invited for a “Make-It and Take-It” activity. Free-will donations will be accepted.

Mythology exhibit
The works of Laura Levine will be on exhibit Sept. 4 through Oct. 2 at Arts Place, 131 E. Walnut St. in Portland.
The exhibit, titled “Contemporary Mythology,” will feature a mixture of traditional, figurative and classical influences, as well as her personal contemporary mythology.
Levine has studied in Florence and Italy and received her bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
