Hit post
A Payne, Ohio, man drove his vehicle into a cement post Monday afternoon at Wal-Mart, 950 W. Votaw St., Portland.
James H. Langham, 67, 206 S. Hyman St., was coming into the parking lot from the Votaw Street entrance. He turned too soon and struck the yellow post with his 2014 Ford Focus.
Damage in the 2:07 p.m. accident was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.

Money stolen
Jay Community Center, 115 E. Water St., Portland, reported to police at 2:08 p.m. Monday that $1,108 in cash had been taken from behind the counter.

Bicycle theft
Michael Homan, 673 S. Bridge St., Portland, told police his bicycle was stolen. He said he saw a man riding a bike that looked like his and then returned home to find that the red and silver bike, which he had parked between his house and garage, was missing.
He thought the theft happened between 2 and 2:30 p.m. and he reported it to Portland Police Department at 5:10 p.m Monday.
