Kegan Comer was ready for the big stage.
Playing Wednesday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis less than an hour after the Indiana Pacers left the court after falling to the Sacramento Kings, the 2013 Jay County High School graduate racked up 20 points for the University of St. Francis men’s basketball team. He also led the NAIA Division II No. 17 Cougars in assists as they won their sixth straight game 69-60 over 25th-ranked Indiana University East.
Comer missed his first shot after the tip-off at 10:11 p.m., but buried a 3-pointer on the next possession. He went on to finish 3-for-4 from long distance on the way to his game-high scoring effort.
He added five assists for St. Francis, which improved to 11-3. He also had seven rebounds, second-most on the squad, and came away with a pair of steals.
Comer leads the Cougars in scoring at 13.6 points per game and is 43rd in the nation with 53 assists this season.
Jason Pottkotter
Fort Recovery – 2012
Was one of two players to reach double figures as the University of St. Francis men’s basketball team lost 68-51 Saturday to Taylor.
Pottkotter started and shot 3-of-5 from the field with four free throws for 10 points. He also had four rebounds and two assists.
In a seven-point loss Friday to Lindsey Wilson, Pottkotter had seven points, three rebounds and two assists.

Scored seven points and grabbed five rebounds for the University of Findlay men’s basketball team Saturday in a 111-77 home victory against Marygrove.
The sophomore played 20 minutes off the bench, went 3-of-7 from the field and made one 3-pointer. He also had an assist and one steal for the Oilers (5-4).
Kylie Kahlig

Was one of the rebounding leaders Saturday for the University of Northwestern Ohio women’s basketball team in its 89-67 loss to Ursuline.
Kahlig grabbed four rebounds for the Racers, who slipped to 7-6. She also had two points and a block.
Wade Gelhaus
Fort Recovery – 2013
Played Saturday for the Saginaw Valley State University men’s basketball team in its 81-69 win over Lake Erie.
Gelhaus grabbed one rebound as he saw 10 minutes of action off the bench. The win improved the Cardinals to 7-2 overall and 4-0 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Played nine minutes in a reserve role for the Brescia University women’s basketball team Tuesday in an 88-69 loss to Faulkner (Alabama). She missed her only shot attempt, grabbed one rebound and had two assists.
The freshman was second on the team in assists Monday as the Bearcats (7-7) fell 77-70 to Auburn Montgomery. She had four assists, hauled in a pair of rebounds and was held without a point.
