Deer struck
A Union City man was involved in an accident this morning in Wayne Township.
Joshua Keaser, 27, 708 Lynnwood Court, was driving south on U.S. 27 near county road 200 South when the vehicle he was driving struck a deer.
The 2003 Freightliner truck is registered to Hoc Transport Company, 1569 Industrial Parkway, Akron, Ohio.
Damage in the 2:54 a.m. accident was estimated to be between $2,500 and $5,000.
In area courts
A number of area residents were fined recently in Celina Municipal Court.
Wendell Boughman, 40, Fort Recovery pleaded no contest to failure to file village income tax. He was fined $250 and assessed court costs.
Gary L. Hargis, 61, Fort Recovery, pleaded no contest to operating a vehicle without reasonable control. He was fined $50 and assessed court costs.
Katie M. Hart, Fort Recovery, pleaded no contest to failure to file village income tax and was fined $50. She was also ordered to make restitution and was assessed court costs.
The following fines were levied by the same court: David M. Muhlenkamp, 69, Fort Recovery, speeding $25; Glenn R. Bonvillian, 43, Fort Recovery, seat belt violation, $30; and Luke Keller, 73, Fort Recovery, improper backing, $23.50.
